8 Hot Smart Home Gadgets for 2019

If you’re like many people buying a golf course home for sale in Scottsdale, you want a smart home – and these are the eight hottest smart home gadgets you need to pull that off.

8 Hot Smart Home Gadgets for 2019

When you’re outfitting your home – whether you’ve just purchased one or you’ve lived there a while, these are eight smart home gadgets that are incredibly popular.

The Ring doorbell alerts you when it detects motion or when someone comes to your door. You can use the Ring to communicate directly with the people at your door (it has a built-in microphone), and it can capture video footage. It doesn’t provide as much functionality as the Nest security cameras do, but it’s a good solution if you only want to work through the doorbell.

Wemo has an entire suite of products that automate your home, including light switches, outlets, dimmers and home security. You can use some controls or the full suite to automate everything.

Philips Hue Lights

Philips Hue smart lights, which are available in white and color options, allow you to remotely control your home lighting. Forgot to turn off the kitchen light? Use your phone. Need to amp things up in the living room? Use your phone. You can control shades, brightness and more with the Philips Hue app, as well as connect it to Amazon Echo or Google Home, and you can download supplemental apps that allow you to customize lighting for movies (try Hue Matcher – it reflects what’s on your TV screen in the light display it creates) and more.

BenjiLock is a padlock that you can open with your fingerprint. (It comes with a key, too.) It’s ideal for sheds, back gates and other uses.

Foobot’s indoor air quality monitoring technology keeps you in the loop on your home’s interior air quality. It monitors carbon monoxide, temperature and humidity, and you can connect it with other monitoring devices to improve air quality all over your house.

August Smart Lock

August smart locks – now in the third generation – let you give other people access to your home for a limited or unlimited amount of time, use the Amazon Echo or your mobile device to get in, and even track activity near your door remotely. You can still use a key if you’re so inclined, but these smart locks give you several options.

U Shower

Designed by Moen, U is a smart, connected shower that you can control through your mobile device, your voice or manually. It includes temperature controls, scheduling and even a timer to prevent you from wasting time in the morning. You’ll even get mobile notifications that let you know when your shower’s all warmed up and ready.

Rachio 3 Smart Sprinklers

Keep your lawn and garden looking their best with a Rachio 3 smart sprinkler. You can automatically regulate it to water whatever you’re growing, and the app can help you track your water usage (which is especially helpful in Scottsdale!).
