Desert Highlands
The private golf community of Desert Highlands set the standard for all residential golf communities in Arizona as it was the very first community to be ever be built around a country club. There are 560 home sites scattered across 850 acres, but half of the land in Desert Highlands has been set aside to remain undeveloped to preserve the integrity and natural beauty of the surrounding Sonoran Desert and Pinnacle Peak. A variety of amenities, including stores, restaurants, banks, medical facilities are conveniently located within a 10-minute drive of Desert Highlands’ 24-hour manned guard gate.
Real Estate
While most of the residences in Desert Highlands are custom, there are 2 semi-custom neighborhoods within the community: The Heights and the Hillside Villa Estates. Development began in the mid-1980’s, but a few custom homes continue to be built today. In addition, there remains a limited number of vacant lots that have not yet been developed.
Desert Highlands prides itself with an array of amenities suitable for everyone which includes an 18 hole Jack Nicklaus championship course, state of the art golf practice facilities, an 18 hole putting course, 7,700 square foot world-class fitness center, swimming pool, a Racquet Club that includes 13 tennis courts and 2 pickleball courts, private member dining experience in the clubhouse restaurant, a dog park, access to year-round social events, and a dedicated residential services team.
With its diverse social calendar, there are plenty of events to enjoy such as happy hours with live music, wine tastings, concerts on the lake, chef-led food demonstrations, as well as traditional holiday events held around the club every year.
Desert Highlands is the only club in the Scottsdale area where membership is tied to real estate. Every homeowner in the community is a member of the club and pays a non-refundable transfer fee to the club upon purchasing real estate in the community.

- - Initiation Fee: $150,000 (to be paid by Buyer upon transfer of real estate from Seller.)
- - Monthly Dues: $1,800 + $100 Capital Assessment through 2028
- - Annual Service Charge Assessment $1,500 (billed semi-annually)
