McCormick Ranch
The seven square mile community of McCormick Ranch was one of the first master-planned communities in the Valley and is now home to over 27,000 residents.
Alongside 10 fully-stocked man-made lakes that have become characteristic of the area, McCormick Ranch is filled with parks and greenbelts, lush landscaping and 25 miles of bike paths. McCormick Ranch is also close to many dining and shopping destinations including Paseo Village Shopping Center and Mountain View Plaza, Scottsdale Fashion Square, and Scottsdale Seville.
The land that encompasses McCormick Ranch was originally purchased by Fowler and Anne McCormick in the 1940s. Anne McCormick bred and raised Arabian horses, and she helped establish Scottsdale’s annual All Arabian Horse Show.
In 1967, Anne donated a portion of her ranch to the city, an area now known as the McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park.
Real Estate
Today McCormick Ranch consists of 67 subdivisions which have a selection of townhomes, condominiums, patio homes, single-family detached homes, waterfront homes, golf course homes and custom homes.
McCormick Ranch Golf Club is home to two public 18-hole golf courses, which wind through the heart of McCormick Ranch. The Pine Course and Palm Course are aptly named for the types of trees predominantly found on each course. Both courses are parkland-style courses with lush landscaping, mature trees, water features and gorgeous views of Camelback Mountain.
The Palm Course has 10 water holes and rows of large palm trees. The Pine Course has mature pine trees and is a bit narrower. Both courses were designed by renowned golf course architect Desmond Muirhead and opened in 1972.
