Troon restaurants earn Golf Inc.’s newest honor: the Golden Fork

Troon is a golf club tycoon with upscale golf courses and clubs across the country. But you may not have necessarily associated fine dining with Troon name- that is, until now. Two local restaurants on Troon properties have just been awarded Golf Inc. Magazine’s Golden Fork award.
The Anthem Grille at Poston Butte in Florence took the title for “Best New Public Restaurant” after opening in early 2015. The Grille serves up lunch and dinner seven days a week, with an additional brunch menu on Sundays. The menu boasts a variety of salads and sandwiches, plus fun features like a create your Neapolitan-style pizza. Diners can also find a few “Troon Fit” items for under 500 calories. Events and themes like tasting nights and live entertainment bring in both golfers and local residents, and are quickly making the Grille a mainstay in Florence.
A little closer to home, the Dynamite Grille at Troon North in Scottsdale received an honor for “Most Improved Public Restaurant.” Although the restaurant has been open since 1994, the Grille has seen its busiest and most profitable seasons over the last three years. It’s hard for golfers to resist the fun theme nights like Mulligans and Martinis and Taco Tuesday. The menu continues to evolve to keep customers interested and coming back for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Troon’s Vice President of Food and Beverage, John Bartilomo was excited for the Golden Fork nods and shared the recognition with the entire team.
“We congratulate the food and beverage staffs at both the Poston Butte and Troon North on winning these awards,” Bartilomo commented.
“The dedication to proper training, creativity in menu development and emphasis on guest satisfaction are all hallmarks of Troon managed facilities.”
The Golden Fork Awards are Golf Inc. Magazine’s newest honor to bestow upon worthy golf clubs and courses across the country. The award winners were recently unveiled, along with the new awards categories, in Golf Inc.’s January/February 2016 issue. Entries and honors were judged by editors on a series of elements including revenue, traffic, guest satisfaction, service, aesthetics, and menus. The popular magazine has been recognizing top course architects and developers for years, so this addition of food and beverage honors seems to fall right in line with a holistic golf experience.
For those who live in Troon North or Troon Village, not only are you close to the golfing action, but you also have easy access to top notch restaurants right in your neighborhood! The newest award-winning Scottsdale restaurant is just one of many reasons it’s great to live in our beautiful city.
