What’s better than cocktails and enjoying local entertainment in the cool AC this summer? Scottsdale’s Center for Performing Arts is once again hosting their acclaimed Live & Local Fridays. The summer concert series around Scottsdale golf homes kicks off July 8 with a Beatles tribute by Marmalade Skies.
Similar to their Sunday A’fair program, the Scottsdale Center for the Arts seeks to bring together Scottsdale golf home residents for a little culture and entertainment, while also promoting local performers. With temperatures set to start skyrocketing above 100 degrees, the cool Virginia G. Piper Theater is not a bad place to be on a Friday night!
Live & Local Fridays is a series of eight concerts featuring local artists from a variety of music genres. Everything from blues to Flamenco will be represented this summer. The concert line-up includes:
July 8 – Marmalade Skies
July 15 – Muskellunge
July 22 – Brian Chartrand & The Voce Projects
July 29 – Sistahs Too
August 5 – The Sugar Thieves
August 12 – Robby Roberson Band
August 19 – Jay Allen & The Uncommon Good
August 26 – Inspiracion Flamenca
All concerts start at 8pm, however the Center is also hosting a pre-show Happy Hour in the Dayton Fowler Grafman Atrium starting at 6pm. Drink specials will be poured, yummy bites from Boss Pizza Bar will be available for purchase, and the gift shop will be open for browsing – plus a 10% discount for concert goers.
Concert tickets are just $12 per person, per show when ordered in advance or $15 on the day of the concert. Tickets can be purchased online or in person at the box office (10am to 5pm Monday – Saturday).
