GoDaddy founder Bob Parsons planning to build new North Scottsdale golf course

Good news for Valley golfers and those looking for Scottsdale golf homes – a new world-class golf course is on the Sonoran Desert horizon!
Bob Parsons, a local business mogul and founder of GoDaddy, purchased Golf Club Scottsdale in September 2013 and just received a permit from the Scottsdale City Council to build a new golf course. The private club is on Rio Verde Drive, just east of Troon North and Estancia.
While it was struggling at the time of the sale, the club has seen quite a bit of revamping in the last year and a half. One of the biggest changes was the name; Parson’s rebranded the club as Scottsdale National Golf Club, and he has far more planned.
Some of the major highlights in the works, which will cover 650 acres adjacent to the McDowell Sonoran Preserve, include:

  • Parsons’ top priority – a new world-class course. He’s mentioned trying to compete with Estancia in Scottsdale, as well as Cypress Point in California and Augusta National in Georgia. The new course will be in addition to and just west of the existing course.
  • A new 170,000+ square foot clubhouse is set to feature lots of dining options, elegant locker rooms, a massive pro shop and underground parking.
  • Overnight accommodations for members.
  • A Par 3 practice course.

While golf may seem a little off course for Parsons, he already owns a golf company called Parsons Xtreme Golf. His company manufacturers its own premium line of golf clubs (sure to be part of that amazing new pro shop) and has signed equipment deals with pros like Ryan Moore and Rocco Mediate.
This exciting new Scottsdale golf course and facility will surely add interest in and value to currently existing Arizona golf home communities in the area. With 386 courses in Arizona alone, the state is already a mecca for golfers of all levels.
Although Scottsdale National is not part of a master-planned golf community, residents of nearby Arizona golf communities like Troon North, DC Ranch and Desert Mountain can enjoy playing at one more top notch course just minutes away.
The ground breaking has not yet been announced for Scottsdale National’s expansion. We’ll be sure to update you with details and dates as soon as they are available!
