Delectable fare and local ingredients merge at Gainey Ranch’s CrosssRoads

Residents in and around Gainey Ranch will soon be raving about the new CrossRoads restaurant at Gainey Ranch Golf Club. The restaurant renovation and re-opening comes on the heels of the golf club’s over $3 million property-wide overhaul. The new restaurant replaces Terraces Dining Room and Patio with open air dining, an indoor/outdoor bar, and fantastic views from the patio.

CrossRoads was the brainchild of Executive Chef Michael O’Dowd, a local foodie favorite. O’Dowd most notably developed Kai at the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass, where he stayed on for 10 years before moving on to his next venture. Other local eateries inspired by O’Dowd include Renegade by MOD in Scottsdale and Urban Vine in Phoenix.
Diners at CrossRoads can expect to find a global menu featuring local ingredients and unique recipes. Case in point: one of O’Dowd’s apps boasts slow-braised Yuma dates tossed with greens, bacon, goat cheese, and maple syrup. Although you can find steak, potatoes, and chili, each item comes with a twist. One could say this is certainly not the golf course dining room menu that you’d expect to see at a traditional clubhouse-but then, that’s probably the point.
It’s hard to find a more central Arizona golf course community than Gainey Ranch. Right between Old Town Scottsdale and North Scottsdale, residents of these Scottsdale golf homes are surrounded by outstanding restaurants and food. The area’s residents seem to embrace new, eclectic restaurants with classically good cooking. CrossRoads is certainly in good company!
