Located in the northeast corner of Mesa, just off of the Loop 202 Freeway and nestled against the border of the Tonto National Forest, lies the golf community of Red Mountain Ranch.
The 800-acre community is aptly named after the nearby Mount McDowell, which is commonly referred to as “Red Mountain.” This 2,832 foot peak is composed of sandstone, which gives it a red hue that literally glows at sunset.
Real Estate
The community offers detached homes ranging from 1,300-3,500 square feet.
The Rock at Red Mountain is a gated townhome community with 22 units averaging approximately 1,600 square feet.
The neighborhood is an excellent choice for families and empty-nesters alike, offering exceptional outdoor recreation amenities.
Red Mountain Ranch Country Club
Red Mountain Ranch Country Club is located in the heart of the neighborhood. It offers a 30,000 square foot clubhouse and an 18-hole championship Pete Dye-designed course. The Club allows both public tee times and private memberships.
Members also enjoy an extensive fitness facility, a junior Olympic-sized swimming pool and a tennis program that offers league play, social mixers and instructional programs on 6 lighted tennis courts.
Dining options at the clubhouse include the Overlook Dining Room for formal dining and the Player’s Grille for casual dining.
Schools
School-aged children living in the Red Mountain community generally attend these schools in the Mesa Unified School District: Red Mountain Ranch Elementary, which is located within the community, Shepherd Junior High School and Red Mountain High School.

Red Mountain Ranch Country Club is home to a Pete Dye masterpiece. This 18-hole championship course is a 6,653-yard, par 72 and has 6 tee combinations to offer both the novice and tour-level player ample challenge. The course rating ranges from 69.1-73 and the slope ranges from 122-144.
Pete Dye used his signature Scottish mounding in his design of the course. He incorporated bunkers with railroad ties and used the ties to surround water features. There are amazing views of both the valley and the western mountains.
Everyone who plays Red Mountain Ranch will enjoy a well manicured and aptly challenging round with vistas of the valley and mountains. It’s the set up for a marvelous day on the links.
The Country Club amenities include a practice facility, pool, fitness center and extensive tennis program. Members enjoy dining in the Overlook Room and, more casual fare, in the Player’s Grille.
