According to their web site, the Mayo Clinic in Arizona is “focused on adult specialty and surgical care in more than 65 medical and surgical disciplines, supported by outstanding programs in medical education and research.”
The Mayo Clinic in Arizona has campuses in Scottsdale and Phoenix and treats over 90,000 patients a year. It employees nearly 6,000 physicians, scientists, and health care staff.

The Mayo Clinic PHOENIX campus is home to the Mayo Clinic Hospital and the Mayo Clinic Specialty Building.
The Mayo Clinic SCOTTSDALE campus is home to the Mayo Clinic, the Samuel C. Johnson Research Building and the Mayo Clinic Collaborative Research Building.
Three of these buildings are clinic and hospital buildings for patients:
- Mayo Clinic Hospital – a 268-bed facility that has 21 operating rooms, an emergency room, a transplant center and a full-service clinical laboratory. The Mayo Clinic Hospital opened in 1998 and, according to the Mayo Clinic’s website, was the first hospital to be designed and built by the Mayo Clinic.
- Mayo Clinic Specialty Building – an outpatient clinic located next to the Mayo Clinic Hospital
- Mayo Clinic – a 240 exam room outpatient clinic, located at 134th St and Shea Boulevard in Scottsdale
A new Mayo Clinic Cancer Center, specializing in Proton Beam therapy, will be opening in 2015 at the Phoenix campus.
