Surfboard style, one-man GolfBoard is the newest rage in Kierland Golf Club’s fleet of golf vehicles. The golf club already boasted a reputation of entrepreneurial edge and alternative golf “rides” out on the fairways with their climate controlled golf carts, Segways, golf bikes, and now, the new GolfBoard.

Not only does the board improve the speed of play, it does a body good. The GolfBoard is an easy and fun way to traverse the terrain of any course. In just a few minutes, most golfers can board and master this new golf-gadget.
With a mantra of “surf the earth” – you know there had to be a surfer or two! – behind the concept and design. Meet big wave surfing legend Laird Hamilton, GolfBoard design consultant, along with entrepreneurial friend and fellow surfer, Star Faron. Faron had been working on an all-purpose, high performance electric mountain board. Put two-and-two together and voila, the GolfBoard is born.
The GolfBoard was named Best New Product at the 2014 PGA Merchandise Show. An unexpected attribute–it even helps on the maintenance side by reducing turf wear.
Will it attract younger golfers? Maybe this is the infusion of a younger genre to the sport that has been desperately needed to boost the sport’s popularity.
