Hearts are pounding and the frenzy is building with our state team, University of Arizona’s Wildcats, taking the field in this year’s 44th Annual VIZIO Fiesta Bowl.
The museum opened in 2006 and it still remains a secret to many. Well, the secret is out and we can guarantee you will gawk when you view over 120 Football Bowl Subdivision team helmets, Heisman and Fiesta Bowl trophies and team awards. Can you imagine if the Wildcat’s took the trophy and the museum could flaunt a home team next year in 2015?
Make this a pre-game outing with friends and fans. The museum is open Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and it’s FREE. Afterward, enjoy a meal at one of the many restaurants surrounding the Waterfront that are literally a 1-3 minute walk from the Ziegler Fiesta Bowl Museum.
Choose from Culinary Dropout, Barrio Queen, Cowboy Cia, The Herb Box, Olive and Ivy, Tapas Papa Frita, Kelly’s at South Bridge, Sauce, and Zoe’s to name but a few.
Did you know? Ellie Ziegler, a Scottsdale philanthropist, after whom the museum is named, was one of only two women in the Fiesta Bowl’s 35 year history to serve as a chairperson?
So week of, or game day, take your holiday guests to the Scottsdale Waterfront and celebrate the game’s history at the Ziegler Fiesta Bowl Museum located at 7135 E. Camelback Road.
