The TPC Stadium Course in Scottsdale, a daily-fee golf course, reopened earlier this month after a 7-month renovation project. The Stadium Course is the home of golf fans’ favorite PGA event, The Waste Management Open.
The golfers on The Matheson Team can’t wait to play the newly renovated course and enjoy the 19th hole afterwards. It was a beautiful course before the renovation and we’re sure it’s even more stunning now.
The course is owned by the City of Scottsdale and renovations began in April on both the golf course and the clubhouse. Tom Weiskopf, one of the original architects of the Stadium Course, was hired by the city to oversee the course renovation.
All 18 greens were resurfaced, four greens were moved, all tees were reshaped and relaid with new grass, and all bunkers were reshaped and some relocated. In addition, golf cart paths were moved and resurfaced and the desert landscaping was remodeled.
The purpose of the golf course renovation was to make it more aesthetically pleasing to Princess Fairmont Hotel Resort guests and to increase the challenge for PGA players during the Waste Management Open.
Allen & Phillip Architects managed the remodel of the clubhouse. Space was added to locker rooms and meeting areas.
Come on out and see why local golfers and PGA players love the TPC Scottsdale. It’s open to the public 51 weeks a year. It’s only closed during the week of The Waste Management Open.
