The Scottsdale Giant Race

The Scottsdale Giant Race at Scottsdale Stadium is on Saturday, March 2 this year. You can choose a 5K or 10K distance to walk, run, jog or even skip if you’re up for it, and all racers finish right on the field. The 10K starts at 7 a.m. and the 5K starts at 7:15 a.m.

Arizona Sun Circuit Quarter Horse Show

More than 1,000 of the country’s best quarter horses and riders will compete at the Arizona Sun Circuit Quarter Horse Show from March 2 through March 10, starting at 8 a.m. daily. The competition, held at Westworld of Scottsdale, includes contests in:

Reining
Versatility
Trail
Roping
Working cow horse
Cutting

Guests can walk through the barns and shop with more than 100 vendors at the event, and there are several food vendors lined up, too.

Sunday A’Fair Minifestivals

Sunday A’Fair is in its 32nd season of free concerts in the park, and they’re going on throughout March. Brought to you by the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts and held at the Scottsdale Civic Center Mall, admission is free. March’s concerts include:

March 3, featuring Dirty Sunset and Pride Through Strife
March 17, featuring Paul Carroll and Stilicho
March 24, featuring Daniell Durack and Blaine Long with Rosas del Ray
March 31, featuring La Luz de la Luna and Jaleo

Parada del Sol Rodeo

From March 7 through March 10, the Parada del Sol Rodeo’s annual event is coming to Westworld of Scottsdale. Events include:

Bareback riding
Bull riding
Calf roping
Cowgirl’s barrel racing
Saddle bronc riding
Steer wrestling
Team roping
Tie down roping

Scottsdale Arts Festival

The Scottsdale Arts Festival on March 8 through March 10 – an entire weekend of fun – kicks off on Saturday, the 8th, at 12 noon. You’ll be able to check out amazing local artists, hear great local bands, see plenty of live entertainment and dive into spectacular gourmet food. It’s being held at the Scottsdale Civic Center Park.

Annual Wedge Skate Jam

The Wedge Skate Jam on March 30 at Eldorado Park’s State Park is always a great time. The event starts at 11 a.m. and lasts until 4 p.m. that Sunday, and there’s no entry fee. Competitors younger than 18 have to have a legal guardian sign a waiver to compete.

Rock and Roll Car and Bike Show

The Rock and Roll Car and Bike Show is the longest consecutive-running Saturday cruise-in event in the country. You’ll see classic cars and so much more at Scottsdale Pavilions throughout the parking lot.
