The Waste Management Phoenix Open is an event that is not only loved by Scottsdale locals, but is a great event for visitors to the city. It’s the time of year that our warm weather and plethora of golf courses are celebrated.
For more than 75 years, Arizona has been welcoming residents and hundreds of thousands of visitors with open arms to the Waste Management Phoenix Open, which is the most highly attended golf tournament in the world.

As one of the first Professional Golfers’ Association of America’s events of the year, it attracts world-class golfers who are dying to play in our sunny climate.
This prestigious event is also a ton of fun for locals, who flock to “The Greatest and Greenest Show on Grass” to watch outstanding golf but also to enjoy the many other amenities provided by the Phoenix Open.
The tournament takes place this year from Jan. 27 to Feb. 3. It’s a whole week of fun right here in our backyard, located at the Tournament Players Club of Scottsdale, off of Hayden Road, very close to Northeast Scottsdale neighborhoods like DC Ranch, Grayhawk and Windgate Ranch.

Events are happening all week, but the first round of the tournament begins on Thursday and goes on throughout the weekend.
Since you’ll be out in the open sun all day, dress appropriately, bring sunscreen, a hat and comfortable shoes. You may also want binoculars to see far-away play, or arrive early to get the best spots.
Remember not to disturb or bother the players during rounds, and if you have the opportunity to ask for autographs, try to catch players at the practice area or after they have completed their rounds.
Another way to enjoy the day is by enjoying the food, drinks and souvenirs located throughout the grounds. Be safe and always call transportation after drinking out in the hot sun!
