Tchaikovsky’s famous ballet Swan Lake is coming to the Arizona Ballet in October

Swan Lake, one of the most intriguing and romantic ballets ever composed, will grace the stage of Ballet Arizona from October 30 – November 2, 2014 at the Phoenix Symphony Hall.
In partnership with the Phoenix Symphony, choreographer Ib Andersen is working to bring one of the world’s most famous ballets, perhaps even the quintessential ballet, to theater die-hards in Arizona.

As golf community real estate experts in Arizona, we like to stay up to date on events that make the greater Scottsdale area an incredible place to live. Cultural venues like the Arizona Ballet help round out our city’s…louder entertainment options (like our numerous sports teams, arena shows, etc.)
*Spoiler Alert*
Tchaikovsky’s ballet tells the story of Odette, a princess who is turned into a swan (bet you didn’t see that one coming) by an evil sorcerer. The popular story was thrown back into the spotlight in 2011 because of Natalie Portman’s award winning performance in Black Swan (Portman plays a ballerina vying for the part of the lead in Swan Lake against a rival ballerina).
The ballet itself touches on a number of popular themes like romance, betrayal and sorcery. Best of all, however (on top of getting to witness the technical mastery of professional ballet dancers, of course) is that fact that the ballet features Tchaikovsky’s most famous compositional masterpieces.
*End Spoiler Alert. You can breathe easy again.*
If you’re looking to get lost in a night of classical ballet, consider spending the night exploring the themes of Swan Lake at the Phoenix Symphony Hall.
