Thanksgiving is the perfect holiday for spending time with family and friends. Why spend all your time in the kitchen preparing the meal? Thanksgiving options are expanding around Arizona golf communities. Whether you’re hosting a dinner for the masses, are tasked with a pot luck side dish, or want to make it an intimate and luxurious affair, there are takeout and dine-in options for every family size and budget in Scottsdale.
Cartwight’s Sonoran Ranch House
Perfect for those in Rancho Manana or in the North Valley for the holiday, Cartwright’s Sonoran Ranch House is serving up a mouth-watering feast. The western-inspired holiday menu includes unique items like Prescott pumpkin chowder and mesquite wood-grilled New York strip steak, as well as locally-sourced ingredients. The restaurant opens at 1 pm and will seat every half hour through 5 pm. Specialty gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan menus are also available. $55 per person, $18 for children ages 5-12.
Talavera at The Four Seasons Resort
One of the best dining options around Scottsdale golf homes has to be Talavera at the Four Seasons Resort in Troon North. This is a gourmet Thanksgiving Day buffet with something for everyone, including Alaskan snow crab claws, caviar, duck confit, grilled truffle brie, butterscotch cheesecake, plus all the standard holiday fare. The hotel opens up both Talavera and Onyx to accommodate reservations, which are required. Indoor and outdoor seating is available to take in spectacular Southwest desert and mountain views as you dine. The festive dining runs from 12-6 pm. $96 per person, $45 for children ages 5-12.
Live near The Four Seasons and want to keep Thanksgiving in-house? Proof is offering pies and sides to go! Order and schedule pick-up for November 24 or 25. 48-hour notice is required. You can email your order to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Valley Ho and ZuZu Cafe
Hotels are always a great option for no-fuss holiday pampering. While the big resorts are popular destinations for holiday fare, boutique hotels can sometimes offer a more intimate, laid back vibe. The Valley Ho has two options: a loaded buffet in their Soho Ballroom and a few seasonal a la carte items added to their traditional Café ZuZu menu. Reservations are recommended for both options. The buffet runs from 11 am-4 pm. $59 for each adult and $19 for those under 12. Café ZuZu is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and items are priced as marked.
Keep Thanksgiving at home and save time in the kitchen. Stores like Whole Foods are offering full Thanksgiving dinners to serve up to eight people, or you can get each item individually from the turkey to the pie. This is a great option to complement your own traditional meal with some non-traditional items or to accommodate special diets at your table. Last minute pot luck invite? You can order online and the store is open on Thanksgiving Day from 7 am-3 pm.
Why not keep things simple and affordable? Local family-owned restaurant chain Chompie’s is offering a full, traditional Thanksgiving meal “on your table in a New York minute.” You can select the full meal for 12-15 people with a whole oven–roasted turkey, homemade stuffing, gravy and all the fixings, or you can stick to the basics without all the sides. You can also order single meals. All items are also available a la carte, like the turkey, dinner rolls, string beans, matzo ball soup and specialty pumpkin crème brulee. All four valley restaurants will be open and serving the traditional meal from 6 am-3 pm Thanksgiving Day.
While food usually takes center stage this time of year, it’s a good time to reflect on all that you are thankful for. No matter how or where you spend your holiday, we hope you spend it mindfully and with those you love. The entire Matheson Team wishes you a Thanksgiving full of good company and good food!
