Street Eats Food Truck Festival taking place near Scottsdale golf homes

Looking for something to do around Scottsdale golf homes? What’s better than a weekend of food truck feasting?
The Phoenix New Times is hosting the Street Eats Food Truck Festival on January 30 and 31 from 11 am-6 pm at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick in Scottsdale.

Just because the holidays are over doesn’t mean great food is on the back burner. Treat yourself to two full days of street food mania and the largest food truck collection in the Southwest. Tickets for general admission are $12 and children under the age of 12 get in free. If you really want to go all out, a VIP ticket is only $50 and includes admission, six beverages, four $2 food tokens, access to private restrooms and a special VIP lounge. Parking for the event is free. You can purchase tickets online or at the entrance.
Once you’re inside the festival, you can use tokens, cash, or credit (for the most part) at any of the over 50 festival food trucks. All participating festival food trucks will be offering $2 samples. Tokens are the most popular way to pay for the $2 food truck samples, and they can also be used instead of cash at the bars. This way you can eat your way through the festival and get a taste of the whole shebang! Most trucks will also cook you a full meal if you find something you just can’t get enough of.
More than just a food truck gathering, the festival will feature live entertainment, contests, cooking classes and a kid’s zone. Main stage entertainment will be provided on both days by School of Rock, located in Scottsdale, and Alice Cooper’s Solid Rock. There will also be a variety of fun eating contests both days including pie eating and hot dog eating classics. Prizes range from restaurant gift cards to Salt River Fields spring training tickets, so definitely bring your “A” game! Check out the full live music and contest schedule for the weekend.
The fun doesn’t stop there; keep an eye out for live cooking and mixology demonstrations. Chefs from some of the Valley’s most popular restaurants like Sushi Roku and Citizen Public House will show off their expert cutting, sauté-ing, and plating skills. Food blogger Joanie Simon will host the demo tent and help get your questions answered.
The Street Eats Food Truck Festival is just one of the many upcoming events around Arizona golf communities. The Talking Stick Fields host festivals throughout the year, ranging from barbeque and taco themes to hot air balloons and obstacle races. Of course, spring training takes center stage in March with Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies games. There is so much to do in Scottsdale – just one of the benefits of living in Arizona golf homes!
