Here’s a closer look at each.

Trunk or Treat at the Scottsdale Family YMCA

The 3rd annual Trunk or Treat at the Scottsdale Y happens on October 19 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and it’s always a blast. Have your little ones jump into costume and join the party.

Halloween Spook-Track-Ula

Halloween Spook-Track-Ula at the McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park is family-friendly fun for all ages. It’s a little spooky, but not too scary for little ones.

Spooktacular Hot Air Balloon Festival

The Spooktacular Hot Air Balloon Festival is definitely the place to be on October 25 and 26. This two-day event features more than 20 hot air balloons passing out more than 4,000 pounds of candy, and there will be live music, food and drink, and a free Kids’ Zone. Check out the haunted Spooky Trail, fireworks and more with your whole family.

Howl-O-Ween Party at the Phoenix Zoo

The Howl-O-Ween Party at the Phoenix Zoo is always a great time – in fact, it’s so much fun that although this list is about events in Scottsdale, we had to include it. This all-ages bash includes activities for the whole family. Events marked “Scary” are for kids aged 8 and up, while events marked “Merry” are appropriate for all ages.

Halloween Bash at OdySea

The Halloween Bash at OdySea in the Desert takes place in the courtyard, and it’s free for anyone who wants to attend. Kids can jump into the Halloween costume contest on center stage, go trick-or-treating with local vendors, or play in bounce houses and slides. There’ll be face painting, live entertainment (all family-friendly performances) and plenty of prize giveaways.

Trunk or Treat at North Scottsdale United Methodist Church

Trunk or Treat at North Scottsdale United Methodist Church is on Sunday, October 27 this year, and it lasts from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. This is the 21st year in a row that NSUMC has held the event, and they’re having a bounce house, carnival games and snow cones. Kids can join the costume parade at 5 p.m. and trick-or-treat toward the end of the event. NSUMC asks that kids only wear friendly costumes, not scary ones, and invites parents to set up their trunks and join in the fun.
