Halloween is a fun, spooky, creative holiday for people of all ages; even pets get in on the costume fun! With October 31st falling on a Saturday this year, there are tons of great events and activities around Arizona golf communities for both kids and adults.
MacDonalds Ranch Pumpkin Patch
Throughout October, you can explore a pumpkin patch at a real working farm in north Scottsdale. Take a hay ride, partake in some western games, wander through the petting zoo, then select the perfect pumpkin for carving. Admission is $10 Monday – Friday (closed Tuesdays) and $12 Saturday and Sunday. Wear a costume on October 30 or 31st for trick or treating at the activities and a $2 discount on tickets.
Carefree Pumpkin Garden
The Town of Carefree is hosting this unique and free Halloween event at the Carefree Desert Gardens. Pumpkin carver extraordinaire Ray Villafane will be exhibiting his amazing creations (great photo ops!) while also giving live carving demonstrations. The festival runs October 16th – 31st and Ray will be there from 10:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. on October 31st.
Halloween in the [Fountain] Hills
Open to all, including your four-legged fur kids, this casual event takes place on the Avenue of the Fountain near SunRidge Canyon. Trick or treating, costume contests, carnival games, bounce houses, food and drink vendors are just part of the free festivities. October 31 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Wicked Ball at Talking Stick Resort
After the trick or treating is complete, tuck in the kids and head over to Talking Stick Resort. This central Scottsdale golf resort is hosting a three-room Halloween party with a whopping $10,000 costume contest – the top 10 winners take home prizes starting from $200 to $3,500. Even if you don’t plan to enter yourself, seeing the elaborate costume-clad participants should be amazing. Advance general admission tickets are $50 or VIP for $90 (includes six drinks).
