MacDonald’s Ranch Annual Pumpkin Festival

Dive into MacDonald’s Ranch’s Annual Pumpkin Patch, where you can choose locally grown pumpkins after a hayride out to the patch (or take a train ride, which is hay-free and accessible), visit the animals at the petting zoo (including miniature donkeys, miniature ponies and pigs), pan for gold at the Gem Mine, and run through a hay maze – the maze is stacked only one bale high, which means you can relax and watch your kids navigate from the outside or you can jump right in with them.

Tolmachoff Farms Corn Maze and Pumpkin Days

Enjoy 6 acres of family-friendly fun at the Tolmachoff Farms Corn Maze and Pumpkin Days. They’re also putting on a mini corn maze for little ones, a haunted corn maze for the daring-at-heart, and so much more. There’s a petting zoo, you can hop on a train ride, play in the hay pyramid or drive pedal carts (adults and kids) or dive on the jumping pillow.

Vertuccio Farms Fall Festival

The Vertuccio Farms Fall Festival is always fun – it’s open every day of the week. You can check out the 7-acre corn maze, hop on a mule-pulled wagon ride (those only happen on Saturdays and Sundays), dive on the giant jump pad or play in the giant tube roll, or even test your skills on the mini zip line. Kids love the mini hay maze, spider web climb, duck races and the animal area, as well as pumpkin bowling and the “Extreme” air pillow. There’s mini golf and an animal area, too.

Carefree’s Enchanted Pumpkin Garden

The town of Carefree puts on its annual Enchanted Pumpkin Garden through October 28. You can join the pumpkin pie eating contest or participate in family carving night – or compete in a pumpkin carving contest to win great prizes. Adopt your own pumpkin, watch the kids join a costume contest and go around the lot for trunk or treat. If you’re of age, check out the beer garden.

Halloween Spooktacular Hot Air Balloon Festival

On October 26 and 27 you can watch more than 20 hot air balloons take off over Salt River Fields. Kids can trunk-or-treat on-site, take part in a costume contest, and watch spectacular fireworks displays while exploring balloons all over the area. You can even take a tethered balloon ride.

Strange Garden at the Desert Botanical Garden

Live performances, monster dance parties and a spectacular sound and light show make Strange Garden at the Desert Botanical Garden a terrifyingly terrific place to take the whole family. The event is free to members and included with admission to the garden. Food trucks, face painting and pumpkins free to kids 12 and under – what’s not to love?
More details here.

Howl-O-Ween at the Phoenix Zoo

On the evenings of October 26 and 27, kids can meet their favorite princesses and Star Wars characters, trick-or-treat throughout the zoo and be part of the biggest dance party in Phoenix. There are “scary” activities for kids 8 and up and fun activities for those who prefer not to be scared.
