Old Tucson Studios, a short day-trip from Scottsdale

They were all filmed at the Old Tucson Studios right here in Arizona!  Originally built by Columbia Pictures on a Pima County-owned site as a replica of an 1860’s Tucson era old west town for the movie industry, visitors can still see many of the original structures today.
Movie buffs will want to schedule plenty of time to visit the Old Tucson Story Museum to learn more about the movies and to see the original costumes worn by the legendary stars that made it to the silver screen.  There’s a little pioneering spirit in all of us, so you’ll want to see where the television series Little House on the Prairie and Bonanza were inspired and filmed.
So for a day trip that will take you back to the historical Old West, saddle up and head down to this old movie studio turned theme park for a nostalgic great day of fun. There’s something for the entire family including stunt shows and shootouts, antique car rides, rides aboard the C.P. Huntington Train, an indoor mining adventure, stage coach and trail rides designed for the kid in all of us!
