Go from golfer’s paradise to foodie’s paradise at Phoenix Cooks culinary event in Scottsdale


The Scottsdale area is known for a lot of things: warm weather, great shopping, top Arizona golf communities and fantastic food.
If you’re a fan of all of these, then mark your calendars! On September 5th, 2015, all of those elements combine to create a true Scottsdale paradise at the Westin Kierland Resort & Spa.
The 11th annual Phoenix Cooks event will bring together over 50 of the best chefs and restaurants in the Valley to share their top dishes and celebrate all things food and drink. You can sip your indulgence, too, with over 30 wine, beer and mixology sampling booths. Cooking classes, stage demonstrations and live competitions round out the day’s activities. The best part is that proceeds from the extraordinary experience benefit Banner Children’s Hospital.
Admission to this foodie’s paradise is $85 per person in advance and $100 at the door. This includes unlimited food and drink samples throughout the event, which runs 10am to 3pm. Designated Driver tickets are also available for $65.
Stage demonstrations and competition viewings are part of the general admission, but specialty cooking classes are not. For an additional $10 you can learn how to taste wine like a pro, pair beers and cheeses or select the right beer for the occasion.
It’s best you prepare yourself and come hungry on September 5th. Participating restaurants include Barrio Queen, Bourbon Steak, Paul Martin’s, Lon’s at the Hermosa and Tesoro. Not to be out done, beverage booths will offer samples from Chateau St. Jean wine, Agave Underground tequila, Tito’s Vodka, Hiro Sake and Nimbus Brewing just to name a few.
Of course with all those indulgence, why not make a weekend out of it? The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa is offering a Phoenix Cooks! Package over Labor Day weekend with two nights’ accommodations and entrance to the main event. Plus you can check out the FlowRider, expansive pool area, spa, superb golf courses and Kierland’s own dining adventure, deseo.
