According to Forbes, Arizona is the #1 state in the country in terms of job growth. This statistic was generated from Forbes’ “Best States for Business and Careers” list in 2013, a ranking system which considers a variety of factors including economic growth and projected employment rates.

According to Forbes’ write-up on our state, Arizona:
- Has the best economic forecast in the country for the next 5 years
- Will have the second fastest surge in population growth in the country until 2017
According to an article published in the May-June issue of mylife MAGAZINE, Arizona will be a national leader in job growth in 2014 as growth is expected to rise by 3 per cent – that’s the creation of approximately 80,000 new jobs.
After aerospace and technology, tourism is Arizona’s largest industry, and growth is expected to take place in the construction, manufacturing, technology, health care and defense industries.
This dramatic increase in employment can be linked to the fact that governmental entities across Arizona, including chambers of commerce, state leaders and municipal governments, have instituted an “aggressive and proactive agenda for beckoning new business, trade, and foreign direct investment to their respective regions”.
This is evident in the opening of GoDaddy’s new technology center in Tempe and Apple’s new manufacturing facility in Mesa. The new PhoenixMart as well, a global commerce center opening in 2015, is expected to generate 10,000 new jobs in Arizona.
This all bodes well for the Scottsdale area real estate market.
