Looking for something to do on a Saturday? Take the family out for a drive down to Willcox, Arizona (90 miles east of Tucson) and visit Apple Annie’s Orchard. The kids can head out to the pumpkin patch to pick out their soon to be jack-o-lanterns while the adults pick fresh apples and pears off the trees.
The fall harvest includes a cornucopia of fresh fruits and home grown vegetables. Don’t miss out on the freshly baked pies, apple bread, cookies, muffins and fudge. Take home fresh apple cider and sweet treats for the neighbors.
If you arrive early, enjoy the all-you-can-eat pancakes with apple syrup. Only on the weekends will you get to experience the delectable apple-smoked burgers, complete with a slice of homemade pie and ice cream special. Oh yes, we should emphasize, that is “homemade” ice cream.
You would rather spend four hours golfing than baking pies? No problem — order their delectable pies online.
After eating, head on over for the absolutely amazing CORN MAZE cut into 20 acres of corn with over 6 miles of pathways and 3 levels of difficulty. The whole family will love it!
The Fall Pumpkin Celebration 2014 takes place the remainder of weekends in October starting at 9:00 am and going until 5:30 p.m. However the orchard is open daily through the week.
Take a jacket: While the elevation of Scottsdale is around 1250 feet, the elevation in Willcox is 4300 feet.
Apple Annie’s Orchard closes for the season on October 31.
