Interested in expanding your real estate investment portfolio? How about buying a fully operational golf course in an Arizona golf community?
The Club West Golf Course in Ahwatukee was recently put on the market by Insight Land and Investments of Scottsdale, the same company that last sold the course to its current owner in 2006. A few other golf courses were also part of the transaction 10 years ago: Ahwatukee Lakes, Country Club and Foothills. Those three courses have already been sold off again.
The Club West Golf Club is situated on Chandler Boulevard about seven miles west of the I-10 freeway. The newly approved South Mountain freeway expansion is expected to make accessibility to all Ahwatukee golf courses, including Club West, even easier, too. The property comes with an 18-hole championship-length course, practice range, a completely outfitted pro shop, and a clubhouse featuring the Agave Wine Bar and Bistro. All this can be yours for just $2.1 million, the smallest asking price of the four courses recently listed for sale.
Club operations are expected to continue as usual through the sale and new ownership.
Additionally, construction started in October on a new gated community around the Club West Golf Course. Rosewood Canyon Estates will be home to 40 luxury properties and may be one of the last new developments in the Ahwatukee Foothills area next to the sprawling 16,000-acre South Mountain Park Preserve. Not only will these homes feature up to five bedrooms, gourmet kitchens, and guest casitas, but they are designed to be about far more energy
Brian Whitcomb and Ken Kavanaugh, the minds behind the Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, The Resort at Gold Canyon and Vista Verde Golf Club in Rio Verde, among others, designed the Club West course that opened in 1993. Since it opened, it has been ranked as a top 20 Arizona golf course. The striking views of South Mountain and surrounding desert, plus the elevation changes and tranquility around each hole, make the course stand out from other Phoenix courses.
Even if you’re not interested in purchasing the golf course, it’s worth taking a trip to the south side to experience a different type of Phoenix course and see the stunning mountain views.
