Cave Creek Fiesta Days Rodeo and Parade

This isn’t just any rodeo. The Cave Creek Pro Rodeo is a non-profit organization and run by a group of volunteers committed to supporting local charities while supporting the professional sport of rodeo.

Cave Creek Rodeo takes place March 27, 28, and 29.

Cave Creek Rodeo takes place March 27, 28, and 29.

And Cave Creek isn’t just any town. This tiny little eclectic town at the north end of Scottsdale has all the conveniences (well, most of them) of a metro area city neatly bundled with funky shops, some great hole-in-the wall bars and saloon type restaurants, hiking trails, a nature preserve, a county park (near where the rodeo takes place) and just down to earth friendly folk. You can’t judge a book by its cover and it’s not all cowboy and redneck in this little town. They have one of the most notable fine dining experiences in the Southwest at Binkley’s Restaurant. Chef and owner, Kevin Binkley has honed his culinary talent at two of the top 13 restaurants in the United States, the French Laundry, and the Inn at Little Washington before opening his four restaurants in Arizona. Fortunately Cave Creek got his best!
The town kicks off the rodeo the Saturday before (March 21st) with the Cave Creek Fiesta Days Rodeo Parade, an equestrian themed home town parade with floats, bands, stagecoaches, saloon girls, Bill Williams Mountain Men, and just about everything in between.
On Wednesday before rodeo weekend, the 5th Annual Dan Lebsock Golf Tournament & Fundraiser takes place at the Dove Valley Ranch Golf Course. Golf fundraiser and a rodeo? Remember, we mentioned eclectic.
And finally on the weekend of March 27, 28 & 29th the dirt starts to fly in the arena and you hear the familiar sound of clanking spurs, the heavy smell of leather under a massive sea of cowboy hats. Cowboys and cowgirls can walk away with a $2,500 purse so there are some pretty determined faces coming out of the chutes.
A rodeo just wouldn’t be complete without the little ones and their mutton bustin’ competition. You’ll find that happening off grounds the week-end prior in downtown Cave Creek at the Buffalo Chip Saloon on Saturday, March 21st at 2:00 pm. However, the little winners will get to stand in the Memorial Arena at the rodeo to receive their trophies.
Tickets range from $12- $18 and can be purchased online. Parking is tight and there won’t be a shuttle service this year so head out early as you may have to hoof it a distance to get to the arena! The Cave Creek Memorial Arena is located at 37201 N 28th Street, Cave Creek, just northeast of Carefree Highway & 24th Street.
This is family fun, so bring the entire family!
