The 14th Annual Foothills Empty Bowls Project Lunch is taking place in the Carefree Town Center, just north of Scottsdale, on Friday, October 17th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 pm. All proceeds from the event benefit the Foothills Food Bank and Resource Center.
The Foothills Food Bank serves the community in the Cave Creek Unified School District, which is the school district for many neighborhoods in North Scottsdale.
Foothills Empty Bowls Project sponsored by Sonoran Arts League Friday, October 17
For a minimum $15 donation, every participant will receive a handcrafted ceramic or glass bowl. The cost includes a pasta lunch prepared by the Carefree Resort and Conference Center.
The lunch will take place at Carefree’s Town Center in the Sanderson Lincoln Pavilion of the Carefree Desert Gardens at 101 Easy Street, Carefree, AZ, 85377. The bowls are provided by the Sonoran Arts League, the primary sponsor of the event.
The Foothills Food Bank started in 1988 and today serves more than 375 families per month. They provide emergency food, grocery assistance and discounts, pet food and food items for school age children.
The Food Bank is located at 6038 Hidden Valley Drive, Cave Creek, AZ 85331. Their hours of operation are Monday to Wednesday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm; Thursday and Friday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm; and Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30 to 8:00 pm.
