We told you about Arizona Restaurant Week last fall when the weather was ripe for al fresco dining. Well it’s back for 2016 and kicks off May 20th all around Arizona golf course communities!
Arizona Restaurant Week is a 10-day culinary adventure that lets you try new restaurants around town with set menus for fixed prices. The typical set up includes a three course meal for either $33 per person or $44 per person. Some restaurants also include a beverage, while others set their pricing for a party of two.

Coming up May 20 – 29, 2016, you can expect the usual suspects that have been participating in Arizona Restaurant Week for years, like Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, The Keg and The Melting Pot. For high-end restaurants like these, Restaurant Week is a great time to hit up your favorite eatery to try something new and spend a little less than usual. The goal of Restaurant Week is to get Valley residents (and visitors) to try new places.
One of Scottsdale’s newest culinary ventures is SumoMaya, a Mexican and Asian fusion restaurant in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale and close to many Scottsdale golf homes. The modern, minimalist space is accented by décor that reflects both the east and west. During Restaurant Week, diners can choose from a variety of small plates or tapas style courses, topped off with a surprise “chef’s choice” dessert, all for just $33 per person.
Another new kid on the Arizona Restaurant Week block is Cold Beer and Cheeseburgers. In a sea of the trendy, upscale restaurants that Scottsdale is often known for, the upfront and laid back style of this decidedly sports bar-style restaurant is refreshing. Plus, this is one of the restaurants offering a couples’ menu, meaning that the $33 includes food for two (shared appetizer, two burgers and a shared dessert).
While you can certainly get a straight up traditional burger and fries here, you may be surprised by the fun choices and combinations. Like the buffalo chicken egg roll, for instance. A crunchy exterior with a creamy, kicky center make these a must-try. Then there’s the Bacon PB & J Burger. Yes, a peanut butter and jelly hamburger. This interesting burger combines grape jelly, creamy peanut butter, crisp bacon and chipotle aioli a top a high-quality cut of beef. A few other special burgers are also on the menu to choose from.
