Whisper Rock Golf Club
The Whisper Rock Golf Club has two golf courses to choose from. The first, The Lower Course, was designed by Phil Mickelson and Gary Stephenson in 2001. The second, The Upper Course, was designed by Tom Fazio in 2005. The 36 holes were designed to group together, but are separated by strips of desert. Golfers enjoy the fact that on many holes, there are no homes to be seen – the course truly feels immersed in the desert. The Whisper Rock golf club is golf only — social membership does not exist here. Because of this, the clubhouse provides golf necessities only. No other facilities or restaurants are located here. Membership is by sponsorship or invitation only. Property ownership in Whisper Rock Estates is not required, nor does it create any rights to membership.
School-aged children living in Whisper Rock generally attend these schools in the Cave Creek Unified School District: Lone Mountain Elementary, Sonoran Trails middle School and Cactus Shadows High School.

Whisper Rock’s golf is a coveted 36 holes and has a membership list with names from the PGA Tour. The Lower Course, designed by Phil Mickelson and Gary Stephenson, opened in 2001, and the Upper Course, designed by Tom Fazio, opened in 2005. Both courses have been planned so that holes are grouped together, separated by natural desert terrain. There are many holes where no homes are visible during play.
Whisper Rock Golf Club does not have any social members, and the clubhouse is set up to provide necessities to the golfers. This is a pure golf environment – no fancy restaurants or other sports facilities. It is a private members’ facility focused solely on providing players with the finest traditional golf experience possible.
Whisper Rock membership is limited to 580 individual golf memberships for the 36-hole facility. This allows the focus to be on ensuring members the best possible access to their golf course while offering a large enough membership that individual members do not have to bring their own 4-some.
Membership in the Whisper Rock Golf Club is by sponsorship and invitation only. Property ownership in Whisper Rock Estates is not required for membership and owning property in Whisper Rock Estates does not create any rights to membership.
