A piece of heaven for sports card collectors this weekend at Desert Ridge Marketplace

Baseball fans in the household? Spring Training fever beginning to make you itch and you can hardly wait for next month when it all starts to roll out? Super Bowl madness has your household in a tizzy as you prepare for the pre-game parties and friends coming in town to visit? Well, you can scratch that itch this weekend at the Desert Ridge Marketplace when Cactus League Sports presents a sports card, collectibles, and autograph convention with free parking and free admission.
Search through the back of your closets and in those old shoe boxes to find baseball and football cards to sell or trade at the show. Or maybe you are just looking for that special card to complete a set or to just get a hold of your favorite player’s card? Well this is the weekend to make it happen.

Highlights of the event include:

  • Dealers on site for trading, buying and selling cards and collectibles.
  • Actor, Dwier Brown, from the movie Field of Dreams will be on site and signing autographs all three days.
  • Ozzie Smith, inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2002 is known in baseball as “The Wizard” and was the best defensive shortstop of all time will be signing autographs on Saturday from noon to 1:00 pm.
  • Robin Yount, hall of famer inducted in 1999 played short stop for the Brewers for 20 years winning the American League Most Valuable Player award in two different positions and, Mark Grace, who played 16 seasons in the majors and is a former Diamondbacks television analyst and currently the assistant hitting coach, will be on hand Sunday to sign autographs from noon to 1:00 pm.
  • And since football will take center stage when Arizona hosts the Super Bowl next weekend, an event wouldn’t be complete without a football player. Fred Bilentnikoff a former wide receiver with Oakland Raiders who played in two Super Bowls and a hall of famer will be available Saturday from noon to 1:00 p.m. for autographs.

JSA (James Spence Authentication), foremost autograph authentication service in the world, will be onsite all three days so bring your autographed cards in for their professional opinion.
While admission and parking are free, some of the athlete’s autographs may not be so inquire about the pricing before you make any promises to your kids.
The event is located between Total Wine and McFaddens Indoors in the Desert Ridge Marketplace at Tatum Boulevard and the 101.
Times are:

January 24th 10:00 am to 5:00 pm
January 25th 10:00 am to 3:00 pm
