Scottsdale and its surrounding area is home to over 200+ golf courses, and some the finest golf courses the world has to offer. Many Scottsdale luxury communities are built around golf courses. In North Scottsdale you’ll find private clubs in these communities: DC Ranch (course designed by John Fought and later redesigned by Tom Lehman; Silverleaf (course designed by Tom Weiskopf), Estancia and Mirabel (courses designed by Tom Fazio); Desert Mountain (six signature courses designed by Jack Nicklaus); Desert Highlands (another Jack Nicklaus-designed course), and last but not least Whisper Rock (two courses by Fazio and Mickelson.)
There are just as many fine public courses that are a wonderful amenity for surrounding residents, as well as visitors. For example, take the exclusive partnership between Four Seasons Scottsdale and Troon North Golf Club, earning the Resort the title of Best Golf Resort in the Southwest by Travel + Leisure Golf magazine.

The Phoenician Golf Club, Camelback Golf Club, McDowell Mountain Golf Club, Kierland Golf Club, and Talking Stick Golf Club are a few other public courses that are often at the top of a visitor’s itinerary.
While you will find a laid back attitude here in Scottsdale (known as the “Most Liveable City in the West”,) it’s not so on the course, and collared shirts are still required in the clubhouses and on the courses.
