Here are 4 of more than a dozen events going on through November 15th:
1. Meet artist James Marshall (Dalek)

Location:  Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (SMoCA)
Saturday,  November 8 –  Monday November 10

SMoCA and Scottsdale Public Arts commissioned Marshall to do two murals at the Museum.  Marshall is a brand artist at Hurley who is renowned for his abstract geometric art.  Come meet the artist and see demonstrations.

2. Banned Plays Reading Series:  The Walls

Location:  Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art
Thursday, November 13th at 7:00 pm

Come see how the play’s themes resonate with the art exhibition, Covert Operations: Investigating the Worlds Known Unknowns.  In this exhibition, a generation of artists share previously unreported information.  Cash bar available.

3. Preservation Hall Jazz Band and Allen Toussaint

Two revered names in American music are together on tour for the first time. R&B musician, songwriter and record producer Allen Toussaint performs with Preservation Hall Jazz Band who are known for their Dixieland performances.

Elton John said, “When I meet someone like Allen Toussaint – that for me is like meeting, you know, someone the equivalent of the Dalai Lama, because for me, he influenced the way I played the piano. He’s a historical part of rock-and-roll.”

4.  Brad Garrett

Three-time Emmy Award winner, Brad Garrett, who played Ray Romano’s big brother Robert on the popular TV show “Everybody Loves Raymond”, performs stand-up-comedy this Saturday.
