The downtown Legends Entertainment District, a collaboration between the City of Phoenix, the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Phoenix Suns, just added two more members to the team – CityScape and the Luhr’s Historic Building. A great example of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts, this partnership has formed to elevate the downtown to a pre-eminent destination for business, entertainment, sports, cultural events, dining and shopping.
Its synergistic workings continue to marry the diverse subcultures of the downtown area into some true urban living. Bookmark their website or sign up for their newsletter to keep up to date on Events, Dining and Entertainment in the downtown core.
Some are calling the Legends Entertainment District the Times Square of Phoenix. I wouldn’t take it that far, but it sure is nice leaving an eatery off Central Avenue and walking to the Herberger Theater for a show and experiencing the vibrancy of the people on the street.
Not too many years back, people would dine in the suburbs, head downtown for an event , then make a beeline to their car and head back out of town. Not anymore – the heart of the 6th largest city in the U.S. is hopping with night life!
