Tiger Woods to play in the Waste Management Phoenix Open

This is big news, as it’s been 14 years since Tiger has played at the Phoenix Open, and this will be his fourth appearance in the tournament. His recent back surgery and a second injury last year may or may not serve as a setback for this year’s tournament challenge—he’s been known to overcome less favorable odds.
Here’s a video reminder if you weren’t there to watch his infamous 1997 hole-in-one on the 16th hole of Scottsdale’s TPC course, when the crowd went nuts and a little unruly behavior ensued.
The last time Woods appeared in the tournament was in 2001.  During that tournament, a fan threw an orange on the green while Woods was putting.
The final round of the Phoenix Open coincides with Super Bowl Sunday, both taking place in the Valley. For Valley residents and visitors, this is sure to be an action packed weekend.  Tiger’s appearance is sure to add even more media hype to the weekend of events.
If you haven’t gotten your tickets, with this news, what are you waiting for?
