Located east of Alma School Road, Troon Village is situated near many North Scottsdale shopping and dining areas. Troon’s proximity to North Scottsdale mountain ranges also allows for easy-access to a variety of well-maintained hiking trails.
Troon’s higher elevation (2500 feet above sea level) also lends itself to cooler temperatures, so outdoor activities like hiking and golf can be truly enjoyed year-round.
Set at the base of Pinnacle Peak and Troon Mountain, the 1,400 acre Troon Village property is comprised of 12 unique subdivisions.
This residential golf community features 239 custom, semi-custom, patio and townhomes with beautiful views of the Sonoran Desert, the McDowell Mountains, Troon Mountain, Pinnacle Peak and downtown Phoenix.
Troon Country Club
The Troon Country Club, a private golf course designed by Jay Morrish and Tom Weiskopf, was similarly designed to its namesake course, the Royal Troon in Scotland (Weiskopf, an international tour pro, won the 1973 Open Championship at Royal Troon in Scotland).
Troon has hosted a number of popular golf tournaments over the years including the United States Mid-Amateur Championship, the Arizona Open and the Merrill Lynch Shoot Out.
Routinely ranked as one of the best golf courses in Arizona, Troon’s green is designed to match the skill-level of every golfer. With access to five separate tee markers, the course’s length ranges from 5,167-7,041 yards.
Highlights of this member-owned club include a fitness facility, swimming pool, tennis court complex and two dining areas (formal and informal). The golf course at Troon is also well-respected by the community because it was developed in an environmentally-conscientious way.
School-aged children living in Troon Village generally attend these schools in the Cave Creek Unified School District: Desert Sun Academy, Sonoran Trails Middle School and Cactus Shadows High School.

Troon Country Club was the first golf course to be designed by Jay Morrish and Tom Weiskopf. Weiskopf won the 1973 Open at Royal Troon in Scotland, and when he and Morrish designed Troon Country Club’s course, they incorporated many of the features seen at its Scotland namesake.
Troon has played host to the United States Mid-Amateur Championship, Arizona Open, Ping Pro Scratch and the Merrill Lynch Shoot Out.
Stretching from 5,160 to over 7,040 yards, each fairway provides the opportunity to play it safe or try a more challenging route. The practice area has a double-sided driving range, two bunker and chipping facilities, and a large putting green.
