The seven square mile community of McCormick Ranch was one of the first master-planned communities in the valley and is now home to over 27,000 residents.
Alongside 10, fully-stocked man-made lakes that have become characteristic of the area, McCormick Ranch is filled with parks, greenbelts and grassy landscaping.
Residents of McCormick Ranch enjoy biking along the community’s 25 miles of bike paths, sailing on community lakes and walking to commercial shopping areas near most homes.
McCormick Ranch is also close to shopping centers like The Borgata of Scottsdale, Scottsdale Fashion Square, the Scottsdale Seville, Paseo Village Shopping Center and Mountain View Plaza.
The community known as McCormick Ranch was originally purchased by Fowler and Anne McCormick in the 1940s. Anne McCormick’s interest lay in raising Arabian horses, and she eventually used her expertise to help establish the All Arabian Horse Show held in Scottsdale.
In 1967, Anne donated a portion of her ranch to the city, an area now known as the McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park.
McCormick Ranch has over 67 subdivisions which have a selection of townhomes, condominiums, patio homes, single-family detached homes, waterfront homes, golf course homes and custom homes.
McCormick Ranch Golf Club
The McCormick Ranch Golf Club is home to two public 18-hole golf courses: the Pine Course and the Palm Course (named for the types of trees that are planted on each course). Both courses are of the parkland style and feature stunning views of Camelback Mountain.
Because McCormick Ranch is such a large area, students generally attend Cochise or Kiva Elementary School, Cocopah or Mohave Middle School and Chaparral or Saguaro High School.
McCormick Ranch is:
- 12 minutes away from Scottsdale Airport
- 20 minutes away from the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX)

Two 18-hole golf courses wind through the heart of McCormick Ranch, and belong to the daily fee McCormick Ranch Golf Club. The Pine Course and Palm Course are aptly named for the types of trees predominantly found on each course. Both courses are parkland-style courses with lush landscaping, mature trees, water features and gorgeous views of Camelback Mountain.
The Palm Course has ten water holes and rows of large palm trees. The Pine Course has mature pine trees and is a bit narrower. Both courses were designed by renowned golf course architect Desmond Muirhead and opened in 1972. The courses have slopes ranging from 117 to 137 offering players a variety of challenges.
The very popular Palm and Pine courses have recently been renovated with outstanding new greens, sand traps and bridges.
This is a daily fee course with annual memberships available.
