1. Rock and Roll Under the Stars
What’s better than a summer rock and roll concert by the pool and under the stars!  The Tedeschi Trucks Band is performing at The Pool at Talking Stick Resort on Friday, September 2. Let the “blues-soaked vocals” of this 12-member band help you jump start your Labor Day weekend. Get tickets online starting at $25, or go to the Talking Stick casino box office on the day of the show.
2. Recover in Mid-Century Modern Style
At the Hotel Valley Ho, summer Sundays are made for brunch, live music and lounging by the pool. The on-site restaurant Café ZuZu offers brunch featuring build your Bloody Mary or mimosa bar until 2:30 pm, then half-off bottles of wine after 3:00 pm. A different local band is slated to play every Sunday from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. And here, summer runs through September 25.
Take your recovery one step further and indulge in the Recovery Sunday Spa Package at the VH Spa. For just $99, you get your choice of 60-minute treatment, a second 30-minute treatment, plus a glass of wine. Treatments include relaxation massage, custom facial, foot reflexology and more.
3. Music in the Park
Looking for a summer weekend activity that’s a bit more family-friendly? The free concerts at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts are hard to beat! The Live & Local Fridays features only local bands in genres ranging from rock to folk to blues. The music is free and vendors are on hand for food, drink and craft specials.
4. Moonlit Hike
If you like to hike and want to beat the summer heat, why not take a moonlit hike? Pinnacle Peak Park, just minutes from the Scottsdale golf communities of Troon North, Estancia, Troon and Desert Highlands, hosts full moon hikes every month. Staff and volunteers guide hikers under the stars for about an hour and a half. The next hike is Friday, September 16 at 6:30pm.
Here is Scottsdale, summer is the season to enjoy a little down time with family and friends. Savor the season and get ready to enter fall refreshed!
